To commemorate the ‘Festival of Lights,’ Pokémon GO introduces two luminous Pokémon into the game: Morelull and its evolution Shiinotic. Sun and Moon, two characters debuted in Generation VII, will join this celebration inspired by the Indian holiday of Diwali.
When does the Festival of Lights take place in Pokémon GO?
This event will begin on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. and conclude on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 8:00 p.m.
Brand-new Pokemon
During the Festival of Lights, the new Pokémon Morelull will occur in the wild, while using Incense, when performing Field Research activities, and in Pokémon GO single-star raids. We can develop a Morelull into Shiinotic using 50 Morelull Candies.
Other event benefits and characteristics
- We’ll have more opportunities to discover a’shiny’ Chinchou.
- For catching Pokémon, we will obtain double Candy.
- Catching Pokémon will provide us double XP.
- The duration of incense activated during the event is two hours.
- Pikachu, Vulpix, Magnemite, Chinchou, Litwick, Litleo, Helioptile, Dedenne, Morelull, Ponyta of Galar (rare), and Togedemaru will emerge more frequently in the wild (rare).
- When using Incense, the following Pokémon will occur more frequently in the wild: Alolan Geodude, Blitzle, Darumaka, Litwick, Dedenne, Morelull, Galarian Ponyta (rare), and Galarian Darumaka (rare).
- In raids, we can find the following Pokémon:
- Ponyta de Galar, Darumaka, Dedenne, and Morelull all received one star.
- Raichu de Alola, Weezing de Galar, Mawile, and Braviary de Hisui are the three stars.
- 5 stars: Xerneas
- Mega-Manectric Incursiones
We will be able to find the following Pokémon by completing the field research tasks: Ponyta de Galar, Electabuzz, Magmar, Chinchou, Blitzle, Dedenne, and Morelull.
Throughout the Festival of Lights event, a Pokémon GO Timed Research centered on catches will be accessible. If we finish it, we will get the Spark posture.
Finally, we will be able to obtain stickers based on Morelull, Shiinotic, and the Pokémon GO Festival of Lights by spinning PokéStops, opening presents, and purchasing them in-game.
